UK’s largest specialist family law firm opens Bristol office
The UK’s largest specialist family law firm – Stowe Family Law LLP – has opened a new office in Bristol, headed up by Managing Partner Jemma Slavin.
The firm said that, in addition to helping clients with divorce and separation matters and disputes involving children, Ms Slavin had also worked extensively in complex financial cases involving property, pensions and offshore assets – with her previous casework across Surrey and South Wales often involving High Court proceedings.
The new Bristol office of Stowe Family Law LLP is located at Queen Square in Bristol and is the fourth office to be opened by Stowe Family Law in less than 12 months, taking the firm’s total number of offices to 14 across England and Wales.
CEO of Stowe Family Law, Charles Hartwell said:
“We have a very attractive proposition for both clients and talented lawyers alike – one of the greatest assets of this firm is its people, from the head office staff in Harrogate, through to our team of lawyers and forensic accountants across the country.”
The head office of Stowe Family Law is located in Harrogate – and the opening of the Bristol office comes 12 months after the firm’s founder, Marilyn Stowe, sold the business. Private equity firm, Livingbridge, took a majority stake in the business as part of the deal.
Following the launch of the Bristol office, Charles Hartwell, said:
“I’m delighted that Stowe Family Law is adding its name to Bristol’s buoyant legal sector.
“This is our first new opening of 2018 – and sees us well and truly establishing ourselves as the country’s largest specialist family law firm.
“We have recruited a number of exceptionally talented lawyers to head up the Bristol office – and very soon we will have over 50 specialist family lawyers working for us across the country.
“All are selected not only for their legal knowledge and skills, but also their ability to relate to our clients and understand and support them through what can be an extremely difficult and emotional journey.
“Stowe Family Law has a reputation for listening to what our clients are seeking to achieve, matching the right solicitor to each client – and tailoring our approach to deliver results.
“This reputation has enabled Stowe to continue to expand throughout the country, attracting quality work and the most talented family lawyers.”
Jemma Slavin will be assisted at the Bristol office by Rachel Fisher – a graduate of the University of Bristol Law department and Chair of Bristol Junior Lawyers Division, who has worked on cases involving divorce matters, cohabitation issues and financial remedy proceedings, as well as child care matters involving parental contact and cases requiring family mediation.
The Law Support Group covers all areas of recruitment – from legal support staff to fee-earner level recruitment – for both regional and international banking and law firms here in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
