Milners Solicitors strengthens corporate and commercial specialism
Milners Solicitors – one of Yorkshire’s longest-established law firms – has strengthened its corporate and commercial offering with the appointment of solicitor Darren Carter.
Mr Carter has joined Leeds-headquartered Milners and brings with him 14 years of legal expertise, working with a wide range of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, PLCs and the third sector across Yorkshire and beyond.
Milners Solicitors’ Managing Partner, Simon Bass, said:
“Darren’s track record in this specialism will be a tremendous asset for new and existing clients.
“He will help us to spearhead the development of our services in this area of law, as well as mentor other members of our team.
“We are delighted to make this senior appointment and recruit a lawyer of Darren’s calibre. His blend of expertise, business insight and tactical know-how will add an extra dimension to our offering.”
His role will include drafting, advising upon, and negotiating company commercial agreements, including Memorandum and Articles of Association; intellectual property and software agreements – as well as general commercial agreements governing outsourcing and the supply of goods and services, said the firm.
Darren Carter said:
“I’m thrilled to be joining a firm of Milners’ stature and pedigree – the size and structure of the firm is also perfect for providing clients with excellent advice and real value for money, which is particularly important for clients.”
Darren joins the Milners team from the Leeds office of international law firm DWF, where he was a Senior Associate. He has also worked for major regional law firms including Ison Harrison and Lupton Fawcett.
Managing Partner Simon Bass added:
“We have ambitions to strengthen our services in key growth areas and Darren’s appointment marks another step forward for us as we continue to broaden our talent pool.”
Milners Solicitors also has offices in Harrogate and Pontefract, as well as its headquarters in Leeds – and is among Yorkshire’s longest-established solicitors. The law firm recently celebrated its 120th anniversary.
