HGF hosts event to discuss flexible working in patent attorney jobs
IP Inclusive North of England has announced an event highlighting flexible working in the IP profession.
The event will take place on 8 October in Leeds and is called Flexible working – making it work for you and others.
The main event at patent and trademark attorney HGF’s Leeds office takes place at 3pm – but live broadcasts are planned to other venues in Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle and York.
Anyone in the patent attorney or IP profession who is based in the north of England is invited to attend one of the venues for the live broadcasts
The event will host a panel discussion, followed by the chance to network with colleagues from across the IP professions.
The panel discussion chaired by IP Inclusive’s Lead Executive Officer, Andrea Brewster, includes Chris Burnett, Patent Attorney at Birkett Long LLP; Ruth Gawthorpe, CEO at The Smart Working Revolution and The Change Directors; Lisa Kelly, Associate Director at Sacco Mann; and Heather Scott, Partner and Patent Attorney at Gill Jennings & Every LLP.
“As with all IP Inclusive events, this is not only for fee earners but for anyone who works in IP. We therefore hope that many of you will be able to come and join in the discussion,” said the hosts HGF in a statement.
HGF offers services which include patent and trademark acquisition, as well as appeals and opposition to protect creative work. The firm also focuses on providing a bespoke service tailored to a specific industry to ensure clients “really get the most out of your big ideas”.
“Our teams are dedicated to providing professional expert advice and support every step of the way,” says the company’s website.
The north of England event discussing flexible working arrangements in the IP profession and in patent attorney jobs is free to attend – more information and registration is available online.
On 17 and 18 October, HGF Partner Lee Curtis – a Trade Mark Attorney in the firm’s specialist trademark group – will also be speaking at a conference hosted by the ERA Academy of European Law in Brussels.
The conference will discuss the need for the regulation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the application in practice of legal principles, in line with the Digital Single Market Strategy and the European intellectual property framework.
The Law Support Group covers all areas of recruitment – from support staff to fee-earner level recruitment – for both regional and international banking and law firms here in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
