Vincents Solicitors moves to new HQ, as firm continues to expand
Preston-based solicitors Vincents are to move to a new headquarters in July, as part of the firm’s continuing expansion plans.
Vincents Solicitors has six offices in Lancashire and its headquarters in Preston will move from Camden Place to Guild Chambers at Winkley Square, after a “full and sympathetic” renovation of the impressive Georgian property, which stands at the head of the square.
The company also has offices at Garstang, Penwortham, Knott End, Longridge and Fleetwood, offering legal advice in Criminal Law, Motoring Offences, Conveyancing, Wills and Probate, Divorce and Family Law, Personal Injury Claims, Employment Law and Commercial Law.
Managing Partner Phillip Gilmore said:
“It is with great pride that Vincents will move into a building with such a rich history in Preston.
“The original owner Nicholas Grimshaw was himself a lawyer and prominent member of the community – and was Office Mayor of Preston no less than seven times and twice Guild mayor in 1802 and 1822.
“It seems fitting that in this Guild year, which celebrates regeneration and development of the city, that Guild Chambers itself is undergoing its own regeneration to become home to our modern and progressive law firm.
“Our greatest successes are measured by the success of our clients and our enduring relationships with them at the times when they need our advice and help most.”
In February this year, Vincents also expanded its commercial department, taking on four new employees and promoting an existing member of the team. The firm’s new department head Ross Wellman is “on the lookout for talent” – and with managing partner Phillip Gilmore has have introduced a raft of new commercial property clients, including those in the energy sector, student accommodation, hotels and car parks, with instructions involving everything from acquisitions and disposals, funding and land options, sale and leaseback arrangements, and commercial ground rents.
Vincents says that four commercial assistants were recruited to provide legal executive support for these cases – they include Olivia Gates, a recent law graduate from the LSE in London; Tabassum Saudi, a law graduate who joins from the commercial team at Baines Wilson; and Jack Andreae, formerly of Birchall Blackburn Law. Former trainee Sanya Motorwala is now a fully qualified solicitor.
The firm adds that the resurgence of the buy-to-let residential investment market is also fuelling the eight-strong commercial department’s growth.
The Law Support Group covers all areas of recruitment – from support staff to fee-earner level recruitment – for both regional and international banking and law firms here in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
