Napthens Solicitors sees largest annual trainee intake
Napthens Solicitors are continuing to expand, with the firm’s largest ever annual intake of trainee solicitors, as well as a raft of new appointments.
The second intake of trainees for 2018 saw existing members of staff Nikita Passi and Charlotte Rumsey move to take up trainee positions, while Sheroze Nadeem, Stephanie Wiggans and Will Bowyer were appointed to trainee solicitor roles.
The total trainee intake for 2018 totals eight, with trainees Kirsty Halsted, Foridha Yasmin and Georgina Vokes, taking up their roles in March. Previously appointed trainees Amie Harrison and Scott Bennet have finished their two-year training contracts to qualify as solicitors, said the firm.
Preston-based CEO of Napthens, Shru Morris, said:
“This is a significant commitment from Napthens to helping train the next generation of solicitors.
“This region has a strong professional services sector, which offers a range of opportunities for young solicitors. We are keen to nurture this talent and put Napthens on the map as an attractive prospect for future generations of lawyers.
“We want the firm to be seen as a place to grow and develop skills while working for major clients across the region, as we believe we offer a genuine alternative to large city law firms.
“We’ve seen real growth over recent years and plan to build on this success –
this year’s intake of trainees will play an important part of our growth story.”
In the last 12 months, Napthens has continued to grow significantly, opening an office in Liverpool for the first time and expanding its presence in Cumbria.
Napthens has recently expanded its Merseyside presence with the appointment of Lorna Rigby as a Senior Associate to its Liverpool office – Lorna previously trained in Liverpool with DWF. At Napthens she will advise businesses on employment issues, from recruitment to restructures and redundancies.
Head of Napthens’ Liverpool office, Gareth McIntegart, said:
“Having previously worked together earlier in our careers, I am delighted that Lorna has decided to join us. Lorna’s appointment is a tangible sign of Napthens’ commitment to the city’s business community and, as demand for our services increases, we will continue to grow our team and our service offering.
“Napthens has received a very warm welcome in Liverpool and I’m looking forward to working with existing and new clients and the wider business community as we build our reputation across the city region.”
