Agribusiness law firm Burnetts continues staff recruitment
Leading Agribusiness law firm Burnetts has expanded its team after new solicitor Sam Mitchell completed his training contract at the North West firm.
A spokesperson for Burnetts said that Sam would become the seventh member of the Agribusiness team – creating the largest dedicated Agricultural law team in the North West of England.
Burnetts has offices at Newcastle, Cockermouth, Carlisle and Penrith. The firm said Sam Mitchell’s appointment within the team allowed Burnetts to cement their continued growth within the Agricultural market.
“Joining the Agribusiness team at such an exciting time in its development is a great opportunity for me,” he said of his appointment.
“Working with agricultural clients is really rewarding because the advice we provide can make such a difference to their businesses – being part of this specialist sector means that I can enjoy a varied case load where no two matters or days are the same.”
He joined Burnetts in January 2019, after transferring his training contract from another law firm.
“Training with nationally recognised solicitors and being part of industry-leading teams has been a great challenge and one that I have enjoyed enormously.
“To be part of such a forward thinking and ambitious firm is something I am proud of – and I look forward to continuing my legal career at Burnetts and to help keep pushing the firm forward in the future.”
Burnetts Partner and Head of Property, Richard Miller, added:
“The current challenges within the Agricultural sector mean that the need for specialist advice is increasingly in demand – our clients continue to recommend our services to other farmers and Sam’s appointment enables us to increase our capacity so as to ensure our service continues to evolve and exceed client expectations.”
Burnetts said that Sam was one of nine trainees within the firm:
“…as a trainee, they are given a significant amount of responsibility and scope to drive matters forward and build relationships with clients – and are continually encouraged to improve and hone their legal skills.”
Richard Miller added:
“This is another example of how Burnetts is committed to developing young talent through our training system.
“The firm’s continued expansion across the region means that we are able to train specialist lawyers like Sam – and then provide them with a career path, without having to leave the area in search of the bright lights of London or Manchester.”
