New head of Hogan Lovells expanding Birmingham office
Global law firm Hogan Lovells has started the New Year with a major appointment. The firm also revealed that its Birmingham office has gone from strength to strength since opening five years ago, including a thriving Legal Delivery Centre, which carries out document review and due diligence.
From 1 January, Real Estate partner Gill McGreevy took over as head of the Birmingham office, replacing Michael Gallimore, who completed a three-year term with the firm.
Gill joined Hogan Lovells in 2000, after training at DJ Freeman – and will continue with her own practice, which covers all aspects of commercial real estate, including development and regeneration projects, retail and leisure asset management and strategy and property investment.
She also has a focus on real estate aspects of borrower-side financing and renewable energy schemes, said Hogan Lovells in a statement – and has also
been co-chair of the firm's Working Families Network; and of Hogan Lovells’ global and UK matched-giving programme, Touch.
The firm’s Regional Managing Partner for the UK & Africa, Susan Bright, said:
“I would like to thank Michael for his exemplary leadership of our Birmingham office over the last three years and congratulate Gill on her new role.”
Since its opening five years ago the Birmingham office has expanded from a team of six lawyers to a current legal team of 42 lawyers and 28 people in Business Services.
“The Birmingham office is also home to our UK Legal Delivery Centre, led by Rachel Dabydoyal,” said Hogan Lovells.
“The lawyers work on some of the firm's most complex client work, carry out document review and due diligence projects – and also provide an outsourcing resource for financial institutions.”
The Law Support Group covers all areas of recruitment – from support staff to fee-earner level recruitment – for both regional and international banking and law firms here in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
