    Trade Mark Secretary

    Our client a leading IP law firm are looking to recruit an experienced Trade Mark Secretary to provide secretarial and formalities administration support to fee earners in their Trade Marks team. This position is a permanent full time (9-5) role with the option to work in a hybrid capacity.

    In this position you will be required to work as part of the Trade Mark secretarial team providing a full secretarial and administrative support service to all levels of Trade Mark Fee-Earners. At this level the role holder will work autonomously across a limited range of processes, and under supervision for many processes.

    This position requires a high level of accuracy to troubleshoot/spot errors and sense check work.

    Key duties include:
    • Picking up trade mark tasks from a shared pool
    • Drafting correspondence to clients, IPO and local agents
    • Filing and prosecuting trade mark and design applications
    • Processing IPO correspondence (including adding deadlines)
    • Drafting schedules for clients
    • Inbox management
    • Carrying out appropriate IPO formalities
    • Arranging searches, and reporting same to client
    • Assisting with oppositions, official actions, recordal and other trade mark formalities
    • Preparing documentation, exhibits and supporting materials where required
    • Assisting with invoicing, cost estimates and related administrative processes
    About you
    • For this position we are seeking someone who has previous experience providing administrative support to an Intellectual Property or Trade Mark department.
    • Excellent audio typing and copy typing skills.
    • Ability to populate basic standard letters without supervision; ability to populate more-complicated standard letters with supervision and recognition of need to flag issues.
    • Advanced knowledge of Word and Outlook.
    • Working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
